For the sword clashing noises we have used a mix of kitchen knives and a real japanese katana.

The 4 slash sounds are done by using the katana in an isolated environment, recording its sounds and then layering and editing them in order to fulfill our needs.

They are then layerd with the sound of a metal blade ringing in order to give it the certain high end we wanted.

We achieved that sound by sliding the tip of a high quality kitchen knife over different surfaces.
